Minu Freitag is a New Zealand-based writer and artist living near Wellington. Born and raised in Germany, she works across architecture, illustration, toy design, and fiction. Her fiction combines science fiction, fantasy, dystopian settings, post-apocalyptic worlds, alternate realities, arcane technology, and magic.
Freitag’s 2022 debut, The Fragments, was published by Freitag Publishing, her own imprint; she has said traditional speculative-fiction support was difficult to access in New Zealand, so she chose self-publishing. Her current catalog includes two books in a planned Spheres trilogy, with a third planned — a strong self-publishing match.

- I was sketching worlds long before I wrote a sentence — the fiction grew out of the illustration and toy design work I was already doing.
