A Northern California fantasy author writing adult, YA, and middle-grade dragon fantasy through her own independent press.

Website

Jordan Bernal is a Northern California fantasy author writing adult, young-adult, and middle-grade dragon fantasy. Her Celtic heritage and love of dragons inspired the Celtic Dragonriders books. The Keepers of Éire was her debut novel, followed by a YA edition, a middle-grade spin-off, and The Keepers of Alba.

Bernal writes and publishes through Dragon Wing Publishing, her own independent press. Her catalog is still small and centered on one fantasy world, making her a fitting lesser-known independent author for this feature.

The standard questions

We ask every featured author the same set, so the archive is comparable.

How did you start writing?: Family stories about our Celtic heritage gave me the dragon mythology before I had a plot to put it in.
Which publishing path did you take, and why?: I started my own press so the whole series — adult, YA, and middle-grade editions — could stay under one consistent vision.
